Why You Should Reject The Fear of Change.

by Pastor Travis Hall

On my last Sunday as the Lead Pastor of Faith Community Church I wanted to share a couple of thoughts with you regarding what seems to be one of the most dreaded words in our culture: CHANGE.

We oftentimes don’t mind if things change, just as long as everything stays the same – Ha!  The truth is that change doesn’t work that way and neither does God.

To truly become everything that God’s called us to become, we have to trust Him in the midst of change. The answers to our prayers often come in the form of change. The Israelites prayed for a breakthrough and God answered their prayers by introducing change; change that initially didn’t feel very comfortable. Take a look:

11 and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?

Exodus 14:11

Does that mean we’ll initially agree with the change, like the change, or want the change? No. But if you’ll make the choice to trust God beyond your feelings, you’ll eventually see the wisdom of God’s perfect will.

You’ll see how God was using that uncomfortable change to add value to your life, increase your faith, and raise your own level of leadership. You’ll realize that He was using that uncomfortable change to multiply your gift and prepare you for your purpose. We can’t become everything we could be by leaving things as they’ve always been.

So, don’t reject change – embrace it. Those that get to walk in their purpose are those that choose to embrace the process.

Trust God –  you won’t be disappointed!
